As part of the Wilbraham 250th Anniversary celebration, an Historic Driving Tour and Scavenger Hunt will take place on Sunday, August 11th between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Participants will drive their own car to 13 designated locations throughout Wilbraham and, while at each site, they will search for and answer questions about historical artifacts or architectural features of interest. The entire tour should take roughly 2.5 – 3 hours to complete. The event is geared towards children ages 7 and above, with the help of an adult; but children of all ages are welcome to participate.
This event is not a race, and it should be noted that some of the walking paths at the tour locations are not handicap accessible. Pre-registration is required, and registration forms can be picked up at the Wilbraham Library circulation desk and the Wilbraham Town Clerk’s or Town Hall Lobby; registration forms can be submitted in the drop box at both locations. Families may request a desired start time for the event and can select their preferences on the registration form. The event is free and open only to Wilbraham residents. Prizes will be awarded to the top three families with the most correct answers. The starting and ending location for this event is Mile Tree Elementary School parking lot.
