SUCCESS

Wilbraham’s Town Wide Tag Sale was a resounding success.  We had 83 different addresses participating in this event, a testament to the commitment of the town residents to support Wilbraham’s 250th Anniversary Committee in our efforts to provide free or low cost events to celebrate this momentous occasion.   We also sold over 250 maps, making our efforts at publicizing this event worth the work.

Due to the success and the support of the residents, we are looking into holding this event next year around the same time.

Please feel free to make comments for the Town Wide Tag Sale on this web site.  Both positive and negative comments will help make the next one even better.

Photo’s will be in the Gallery soon.

Wilbraham 250th Anniversary Student Ambassador Program

The Wilbraham 250th Committee has established a Student Ambassador program where students are encouraged to showcase their talents. We hope to involve student scholars, athletes, musicians, performing and visual artists, and technology aficionados. We are targeting Wilbraham residents, but not excluding anyone living outside of Wilbraham. Ambassadors may work as an individual or in a group. Each student must apply individually. To download a copy of the requirements and an application, please click here Ambasador Program.

New Logo

Here is the finished version of Wilbraham’s 250th Anniversary Celebration Logo

Logo Contest: We Have a Winner!

After receiving several wonderful entries for the Logo Contest, the judges had a difficult decision in choosing a winner. The logo that was selected was the creation of Wilbraham resident, Jennifer Guidara, who created her entry using items that are meaningful to the town, including a peach, arrowheads, a canoe, Knox’s cannon, a falcon and a sprig of berries. The peach is representative of the local peaches that Wilbraham is known for growing. The arrowheads have been found all around Wilbraham especially around the Chicopee River where the Indians who settled here also used the poplar trees from around the river to build their canoes. Henry Knox brought the cannons that he captured at Fort Ticonderoga through the town on his way to Boston. The falcon is the current mascot of the Minnechaug Regional High School, Minnechaug meaning berryland, which is where the sprig of berries come into the logo.

CONGRATULATIONS TO JENNIFER GUIDARA who won a gift of $250 for her winning entry!!!
